The difference between Frontside 360, Pushloop and Backloop
This video deals with the backloop and how the backloop differs from the frontside 360 and the pushloop. All rotations are jumped as 360 degree rotations. The frontside 360 is a rather flat rotation of the board, whereas the back- and pushloop is a rotation of the board over the bodies center of gravity.
With the backloop, the movement is smoother and it is primarily the board that dictates the rotation. Only when the board sinks nose down again after the apex of the jump does the turn with the wing follow.
In a pushloop, the nose of the board is also turned upwind but before the apex of the jump. The wing then turns impulsively and initiates the descent with the wing ahead. For a brief moment, you push the wing out from under you with the rear handle - this push gives the jump its name.
In this video, GWA Pro Rider Max Robinson discusses the differences between these three jumps with Alex Mertens and Taylor Baum. The examples shown show that it is not easy to differentiate between the individual jumps and that opinions on their classification differ.
