Backloop Spin Frontside 7
Charlie Loch shows the backloop spin + frontside 720
In 2025, backloop spins will be highly popular among the top riders in the Wingfoil World Cup, who use them to link up with further rotations immediately afterwards.
The reason: a backloop spin, also known as palau, can be performed in a fairly controlled manner, making it easy to add another trick component to this movement. For example, you can continue spinning (double palau) or change the direction of rotation, as with an attached frontside rotation.
Some of the pros follow up with a frontside 720, as seen here with Charlie Loch.
For anyone who wants to try this trick, here is the slow-motion version for both jump directions.
