Backwind Air Tack
At tack can be jumped too
The aerial version of the tack (aerial tack) works best in switch stance and with the wing held back (= backwind aerial tack). From this riding position, you luff (at the same time, steer the foil lower in preparation for the jump), push the leading edge of the wing through the wind and start the jump into the wind.
The wind pressure, which is then once again pushing into the wing from the correct side, provides an impulse in the opposite direction of the original direction of travel if the timing is right. This allows you to complete the 180-degree turn in flight.
Malo Guenole jumps over a wave in the video, but the move also works on flat water.
