Changing Stance (touching down)

Change foot position when planing

In this video tutorial from Duotone, Stefan Spiessberger shows how to change your foot position while riding. More specifically, he demonstrates the touchdown method, in which the board is first brought back to the surface of the water from the flying position before changing feet from the switch stance to the normal position.

Advantage of this method
After a touchdown, the board planes over the water with its bottom. This ride is still fast, but much more stable than flying on the foil. Although the load changes on the deck also act as a steering impulse, the board reacts less sensitively than if it were in foil mode. After changing stance position, you simply take off again.
