Duck Jibe - switch stance

Holding the wing with your back hand only

With a duck jibe, you turn the wing the other way around compared to a normal jibe. In a duck jibe the front tube of the wing is not turned upwards, but downwards towards the water. This is also the case with a duck jibe in switch stanc.

To do this, the rear hand lifts the wing when initiating the jibe and pulls the rear handle upwards over the head, as if you wanted to dive (duck) under the strut.

The front hand lets go of the handle and also grips the rear handle next to the rear hand. As the wing is no longer guided with the front hand, it flies out of the wind, turns with the front tube downwards and further to the inside of the turn.

During this pendulum movement, the previously rear hand grips the front handle and lifts the wing with the front tube in the new direction of travel. The wind starts blowing into the wing again and generates power for acceleration.
