Duck Jibe - switch stance

The simplest variant

There are different ways to perform duck jibes – here you can see the simplest version, where the wing is guided with both hands almost throughout.

The term 'duck' comes from ducking down, ducking under the strut as it is moved over your head to the outside. To make this work as well as possible, wait until you are foiling downwind before turning the wing. The power in the wing is lowest when sailing away from the wind, making it easier to turn.

In a normal jibe, the leading edge is turned toward the wind, whereas in a duck jibe, it is the other way around (leading edge away from the wind). The rear hand pushes the boom over the head (you can switch from an overhand to an underhand grip beforehand), while the front hand holds the wing at approximately chest height so that the rotation is flat.

The rear hand then quickly reaches forward and holds the wing high enough so that the tip does not dip into the water when turning into the normal riding position. The other hand reaches back. And off you go on the new course.
