Frontloop
Lilian Juppet rotates the frontloop
The frontloop is a forward salto jumped to leeward. Unlike the sideways-jumped frontflip, the frontloop starts a real rotation forwards.
Unlike the frontflip, where the wing is steered downwards to rotate sideways over the strut (similar to a cheese roll in windsurfing), the frontloop starts a real rotation forwards (like a spinloop or forward in windsurfing).
The goal is to jump high in order to have enough airtime for a full rotation. In the air, the front arm is pushed forward during the climb and the rear hand is pulled in. At the same time, the body curls up tight in order to increase the speed of rotation. Example illustration for rolling in: You jump with the back of the body in front.
This moment takes a lot of effort because the body instinctively wants to counteract the rotation and stretch. However, this would immediately slow down the rotation and lead to a bad landing. Therefore, curl up and let it rotate. Only when landing do you stretch your body and slow down the rotation.
