Jibing into the wave face

This tutorial shows how to jibe in front of or on a wave. You can use the jibe on the wave face to start a wave ride.

The wave can be used as a steep turn, the wave face accelerates the ride on the foil. The steeper angle of the water surface should be taken into account, the board must be carved more into the turn. The acceleration in the second half of the jibe happens as if by itself, because the wave pushes hard.

A quick jibe (chicken jibe) before a wave that is too big can also be used to escape (if you will not manage to foil over it).
