One Footed Jump
Jumps with one foot of the straps
This tutorial shows how to jump one footed when wing foiling. But be careful: taking one foot out of the straps when jumping is not without danger.
Slipping out of the strap with one foot when jumping is usually synonymous with loss of control. Connected with just one foot can cause the board to swing uncontrollably.
Do not break your knuckles: If you land in an unfamiliar direction with one foot in the strap, the leverage effect of the foil can transfer a lot of force to the foot. The risk of injury to ligaments and joints (foot and knee) is relatively high.
Therefore our tip: The one footed jump is only recommended for experts. This tutorial shows a one foot straight air, where the front foot remains in the strap and the board is aligned straight (in the direction of travel). The weight of the foil pulls the tail down. This works quite well, as it keeps the nose pointing upwards and landing is relatively easy.
To land safely, place the rear foot back on the deck before touching down with the foil. This allows both legs to cushion the landing.
Emergency exit: If something gets out of control in the air, you should get out of the strap with your second foot as quickly as possible and let the wing carry you downwind.
