One Handed Backflip

The backflip can also be done one-handed

Here you can see wing foil pro Noé Cuyala doing a one-handed backflip. The wing is flagged and held leeward throughout the jump.

The one-handed backflip requires less effort than the normal backflip as the wing does not rotate. The wing drifts sideways leeward, the backward roll takes place via the horizontal axis.

However, gripping the front tube handle is tricky. Regardless of whether you grip it from below or above when jumping off, you have to change your grip during rotation to avoid twisting your arm.

Noé starts with his right hand in the overhand grip and changes his grip during the rotation. As he has the leash attached to his left arm, he can tighten it and grab it during the jump if he misses the handle with his hand (as shown here in the video). This allows him to quickly regain control of the wing after landing.
