Why should you do something like this? Because it's totally easy! It's hard to believe, but foiling while sitting on the board is actually quite easy. The best way to start - unlike in the video - is to sit on the board and try to get into foiling on downwind course. Your legs are stretched out on the board.

Sit down foiling works better in slightly stronger winds. Pumping with the wing is then all it takes to lift the board out of the water. The low center of gravity makes it easy to control and even steer the foil ride by shifting your weight.

The second option for foiling while sitting is to crouch down while foiling. Stefan Spiessberger demonstrates this version in the Duotone Wing Academy video above.
