Spray
The foil slide with Alan Fedit
Let it spray! With a foil slide you can slide across the water, the wings of the foil behave similarly to stone skimming (stone skipping) over a water surface.
Alan lets his board rise at a shallow angle (less than 45°) until the front wing of the foil breaks the surface of the water. When touching down, the impact of the foil on the water surface creates a bow wave.
As long as Alan maintains speed - the wing continues to provide propulsion - his speed is greater than that of the wave. The wave behaves like a ramp and causes the foil to take off again and again - until Alan slows down too much.
Keeping your balance is the biggest challenge, as the foil's dancing on the water must be controlled by the board. As so often, practice makes perfect.
