Upwind 360 Whipped
The most dynamic way to foil an upwind 360
In this video, Klaas Voget shows you how to foil an upwind 360. The upwind 360 is a circle foiled into the wind.
In comparison to the version with the wing held back (backwinded), you try to turn the circle quite tightly, keeping the wing neutral in the wind and then, after approx. 270 degrees of the turn, turn further in the normal direction of travel with a tighter radius.
The video shows the normal upwind 360. Duotone refers to the fast turning of the wing as whipping and therefore calls the entire trick in this tutorial upwind 360 whipped - in contrast to the backwinded version.
Incidentally, this version of the upwind 360 is a good training for the jumped version, which is then called the frontside 360.
