Wing and SUP-Board

Cruising with a wing on a large-volume board

Learning to wingsurf is best done on a large-volume board that has a center fin in the middle of the board in addition to the rear fin. The center fin(s) works as a drift inhibitor (daggerboard) and makes it possible to ride between to points without drifting downwind.

In addition to special beginner wingsurf boards, SUP boards or boards for windsurfing beginners are also suitable. Stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) can be equipped with a retrofitted center fin (as seen here in the video), larger windsurf boards usually have a foldable daggerboard.

These boards offer enough volume to stand up on the water and learn how to control the wings. The integrated video above shows how this works.
