Wing Foiling in southern Brazil
The area around Ibiraquera
When people talk about the best regions for wing foiling in Brazil, they often mention the Northeast, with its well-known spots around Fortaleza, Cumbuco, and Jericoacoara. But of course, Brazil has even more to offer.
Inspired by Yann Rifflet’s stories about the spots around Ibirapuera, the Duotone team chose the region south of Florianópolis as the location for the photo shoot for the new Float wing.
In addition to Yann, Nia Suardiaz, Wesley Brito, Finn Spencer, Stefan Spiessberger, Thomas Floricke, and Tom Auber were also on the trip.
The timing was perfect, as most of the riders were already on site for the final stop of the 2024 GWA Wingfoil World Cup.
After that, they headed out onto the water at the often fairly empty spots between Ibiraquera and Farol de Santa Marta. That’s where the video below was filmed, which captures the conditions in southern Brazil in about six minutes.
