Jibe - one handed
Alternative name: One Handed Jibe
Category: Basics
Level of difficulty: Level 2 (from 4)
Special characteristics:
- one handed trick
Description
Jibes can also be ridden one handed when wing foiling. To do this, the front hand grips the wing at the centre of pressure of the wing when initiating the jibe.
A wing without a boom must have a grip (loop, handle) in exactly the right place, as the wing can only be held in balance if the hand is positioned correctly.
The hand grips the handle from below (underhand grip) so that the wing can be turned in the jibe. At the end, the other hand grips the wing at a position further forward and the rear hand is moved backwards. This allows the wing to be hauled again after the jibe.
