Riding in Footstraps

Riding in Footstraps

Category: Basics
Level of difficulty: Level 2 (from 4)

Description

You can wing foil with or without footstraps. Footstraps increase stability on the board and allow you to jump.

While you can slip sideways on the deck (usually an EVA foot pad), footstraps lock your foot securely on the board.

For beginners, it is easier to start on a board without footstraps. Once you have found the right stance position, the next step is to mount only the two front straps. This gives the front foot more contact with the board.

For jumping - or more stability when foiling - the rear footstrap can also be mounted.
