Riding in Switch Stance
Alternative name: Riding Toeside, Switch Stance
Category: Basics
Level of difficulty: Level 2 (from 4)
Special characteristics:
- riding in switch stance (toeside)
Description
When wingfoiling in switch stance (also called toeside), you stand on the board with your feet positioned the other way around and you are riding with twisted hips and upper body.
As in a normal stance, you shift your body weight onto your heels and toes to control the board. It takes some time to get used to the switched stance, as controlling the board in flight is slightly different.
The easiest way to get into the switch stance is to ride a jibe without changing your foot position. After the 180 degree turn, you automatically stand with your feet twisted on the board. Continue riding crosswind in switch stanec to get used to it.
