Switch Stance Jibe
The switch stance jibe as a slideshow
When jibing in switch stance, your back points to the inside radius of the turn. Turn downwind slightly and pull the wing tight to pick up speed. Then the rear hand grips the front handle and the front hand lets go.
You can turn the wing with just one hand - namely the front tube from the original direction of travel upwards and further in the new direction.
How steeply the wing is set depends on the wind force. Here you can see the switch stance jibe in slightly stronger winds, where the wind provides the wing with power at all times. If there is enough wind in the wing, the wing can be held at a steep angle when riding downwind.
When there is less wind, the wing must be guided more horizontally, as otherwise a counter-pressure can arise due to the downwind ride (the wind then pushes the wing towards the rider).
Back to the slideshow. Halfway through the turn, pull the wing closer to the body again and turn the strut horizontally (front tube in the new direction of travel). Then grab the wing with your back hand.
As you started the jibe in switch stance, you are standing on the board with your feet in the normal position after the turn.
As always, the tip is to focus primarily on smooth foiling, you can neglect the guidance of the wing.
