Tomas Acherer shows two backward rotations in one jump

A clean double backflip - Tomas Acherer performed this jump in the semi-finals of the GWA Wingfoil World Cup in Jericoacoara.

This was also a 'world first' move in a GWA surf-freestyle contest, for which additional innovation points were awarded (the 17-year-old wing foiler from Austria scored an even 10).

American Chris Macdonald had previously performed this jump at the 2024 GWA Big Air Contest in Gran Canaria, but not yet in a surf-freestyle cometition.

As the name suggests, the double backflip is a jump with two backflip rotations in a row. You can follow the sequence of movements in the slow motion video (mirrored to illustrate both directions: port and starboard tag).
