Duck Jibe

How to duck jibe on a wing foil board?

In this video tutorial from the Duotone Wing Academy, Stefan Spiessberger demonstrates the duck jibe while wing foiling.

With a duck jibe compared to a normal jibe, the wing is turned the other way around in the new riding direction. Specifically: the front tube is turned downwards (towards the water) when the jibe is initiated. The change of grip takes place relatively early, so that the rotation is already completed on the downwind course.

With a little practice, you can ride the duck jibe more dynamically than the normal jibe, as the wing - at the right angle of attack - can generate continuous power.

Take a close look at the movement sequence in the video and pay attention to the brief neutralization of the wing above your head at the start of the turn.
