Duck Jibe
How the duck jibe works
When riding a duck jibe, the wing is turned in the other direction with the leading edge facing the water.
After initiating the jibe, the front hand releases the handle. This causes the wing to fly downwind with the leading edge first. Now the front hand grips the rear handle crosswise - over the other arm - and pulls the strut upwards, the wing begins to swing downwards. At the same time, the previously rear hand grips the front handle and lifts the leading edge up again.
Here in the video you can see Alex Neubert doing the duck jibe - mirrored for both directions. The chop makes the move more difficult and the duck jibe is best practiced on a completely flat water surface.
