Frontside 1440

Four rotations within one jump

There it is, the quadruple rotation. Chris Macdonald jumped the first frontside 1440 in a competition. The move consists of four rotations around the upright body axis, with the board and wing also being rotated.

The American performed the frontside 1440 at the 2025 GWA Wingfoil World Cup in Tarifa. The not quite clean execution prevented the highest score - Chris landed after three and a half rotations and turned the last 180 degrees in the water, for which he only received 6.4 out of a possible 10 points.

Jump height and a high rotation speed are the key to performing the four 360-degree rotations in succession.
