Leaving the water
Get off the wingfoil board and carry the equipment out of the water.
When you step off the board, you need to ensure sufficient water depth. It's best to remember exactly where you stepped onto the board. You can end the ride exactly there and then have enough distance to the sea floor with the board and foil in displacement mode. If you want to step off at a different place, it's better to step off a little too early than risk touching the bottom with the foil.
You descelerate by returning the wing to its neutral position and by steering the board towards the surface. After touchdown, grab the wing at the front handle and kneel on the board. Disembark leeward: the board is windward in relation to you, the wing leeward.
As soon as the water gets shallower, tilt the board and carry it so that the underside and the foil point towards the wind.
In very calm water, you can also place the board upside down and push it towards the shore holding the foil. Pay attention to the wings of the foil, because they are then at head height.
You can watch the details of how to do this in this video tutorial. It shows how to get off the wingfoil board in deep water and carry your gear out of the water and back onto land.
