Parawinging with a harness
Riding with a harness relieves strain on the arms
When parawinging, you can use a harness to relieve the strain on your arms when holding the parawing. The harness is a padded hip belt with a hook on the front. The harness line is attached to the bar and the loop is then hooked into the harness hook.
Hanging in the harness, the holding forces are transferred to the body, while the hands only provide steering impulses.
A trapeze is only necessary if you want to foil long strokes with propulsion from the parawing, e.g. to return to your starting point after a long downwind ride.
You can practice clipping in and out of the harness on the beach before going out on the water with it. The video above shows how to use the harness for parawings.
If you only ride short legs with the parawing, you don't need a harness, because the additional line on the bar and the strap with hook restrict your freedom somewhat when riding. Less equipment is more in this case, especially since the wing's holding forces are very low when foiling.
