Riding in Footstraps

Footstraps provide close contact with the board

With footstraps, you have more control over the board. They provide more stability and you can also steer the board more directly. Straps can also help with take-off, as you can then move the board more intensely (e.g. lift it a little with your feet during the pumping motion).
How do you find the right footstrap position?
The footstraps must be attached to the board in exactly the right position. When foiling without footstraps, pay attention to where your front foot is positioned on the deck. Then, as a first step, attach the two front straps exactly at this position.

Then get back on the water. Now pay attention to where you put your back foot. Also try a position a little further back. When you have found the right step size, you can also mount the rear loop.

At the beginning, you should adjust the loops a little further so that you can always slip out in the event of a crash (either increase the distance between the two screws in the plugs, or adjust the loop further).
