Switch Air Tack
Jumping instead of foiling
The switch air tack in slow motion. The move is also called a backwind air tack, but in the version shown here, the name derived from the riding position is more appropriate (the wing is not really back but rather neutral).
How does the trick work? Basically like a normal switch (stance) tack, where the second half is simply performed as a jump. Go low, jump off and use the lift of the wing for a jump with a board rotation of between 90 and 180 degrees.
The further you jump around — as shown here, almost 180 degrees — the more ideally you will land on a downwind course and can use the power in the wing after landing for a quick takeoff.
