Turn wing around

Wing handling on land and on the water

In this video tutorial, Olivia Jenkins and Stefan Spiessberger show you the easiest way to turn the wing around. On land, this can be done quickly with the right grips while standing, but on the water it's a bit more wobbly.

So here's a tip: try turning the wing while sitting on land - this way you can simulate the technique for turning it around on the water.

When seated, you have less ground clearance and have to grip the wing further towards the wing tip.

Use the outer hand to secure the wing on the outside of the wing by applying pressure from above, while the other hand grips the front tube from below and lifts it.

In stronger winds, you have to make sure that the wing does not fly away when turning.

Therefore, turn quickly in one go (for a better hold from below, always grip a little around the tube) and then secure the wing by applying pressure with both hands from above.

In practice, it will often be necessary to turn the wing on the water. After almost every crash, the wing rests with the top of the wing on the water.

On smaller boards, you have more stability when for turning the wing around if you sit on the board first (one leg on the right and one on the left in the water).

Even on land (before or after your session), the wing must be turned, as it is always placed upside down.
