Raley
Alternative name: Railey
Category: Jumps
Level of difficulty: Level 3 (from 4)
Special characteristics:
- this trick is a jump
Description
The raley is a simple as well as stylish jump. For this jump, you have to swing the board backwards to fly almost horizontally through the air.
Your body bends into a hollow back while you are pulled through the air by the wing with outstretched arms. The board swings up behind your back, at least until the mast is parallel to the water. The nose of the board points into the wind.
After the highest point of the jump, aim for the surface of the water to be prepared for the landing. The board automatically swings back down due to its own weight. The nose also turns back in the direction of travel. For the cleanest possible landing, try to land with the nose slightly lowered. This allows the foil to enter the water easily and immediately generate hydrodynamic lift.
