Winging one-handed

One-handed wing foiling in switch stance

To hold the wing with one hand, the rear hand must grip the boom exactly at the point of pressure of the wing. This is pretty much exactly the middle between the normal grip position.

Here you can see one-handed foiling in switch stance in one go. The goal is to hold the wing with your rear hand. To do this, open your rear hand slightly, slide along the boom to the middle of the normal grip position, and grab it again there.

This should allow you to hold the wing with both hands. Once your rear hand is in the correct position, you can release your front hand.

If the position of your rear hand is not correct, you can use your front hand to correct it, or move your hand by giving the wing a quick tug (pull the wing a little closer, then loosen your grip slightly and reposition your hand).

If you want to continue foiling with both hands, the front hand reaches back to the boom and the rear hand slides into the appropriate position with a slightly loosened grip.
