Riding one handed
Alternative name: One Handed Riding
Category: Basics
Level of difficulty: Level 2 (from 4)
Special characteristics:
- one handed trick
Description
One handed winging can be used in normal and switch stance riding position. You don’t necessarily have to be on the foil, holding the wing one handed also works while floating or planing with your board.
To hold the wing one handed, the back hand is moved further forward and grips the handle/boom
where the the centre of pressure of the wing is located.
With the right balance, you can then hold the wing relatively easily with one hand.
To approach the correct grip position, the front hand remains on the handle/boom for safety reasons until the back hand alone has stable control of the wing.
You can practise holding the wing with one hand on land before entering the water.
